ANDREW J ANDERSON

bathgate born singer songwriter

KEEPING IT BRIEF

Born and raised in Bathgate, Andrew started writing songs at the age of 11 in 1994, dubbing his publishing company Andersongs.  He had a string of bands before studying music at college for 4 years.  After his last band Inhibition broke up at the end of 2003, he decided to record his own tunes he’d been writing and purchased a 10-track digital recorder.

He recorded his debut album Red in 2004, and has since compiled 3 more albums of entirely original material (Black Ribbon, Liquid Flag and Silence the Clown) and one E.P. (Seven Blue), and many of the tracks are available to download from this website.

Andrew plays all the instruments on each track (with the exception of a guest guitar solo in ‘Hard to Find’ from Seven Blue), and also produces every track, therefore avoiding disputes over direction.  He collaborates on artwork for his projects with lifelong friend James Whitelaw, lead singer in The Inspirational Hillside Disaster, who Andrew also produces.

To pigeon-hole Andrew, his music is a mixture of pop, rock, alternative and folk, but he has tried his hand at hip-hop, blues, funk and experimental music as well.  He is currently working on a number of projects, one entitled ‘After The War Is Over’, the follow up E.P. to ‘Seven Blue’, and also an as-yet untitled rock album.

The world waits patiently…
